St Andrew's Cathedral Organ
(As part of the Cathedral Renovation in 2009/2010 the organ was dismantled and placed in storage by David Wells (Organ Builders Ltd) Liverpool.)
The organ was originally built for Elgin Place Congregational Church in 1902 by Henry Willis II, less than a year after his father’s death, and is therefore an example of the early work of Henry Willis II. The organ is highly regarded as one of Scotland’s distinguished romantic instruments and is virtually unaltered from its conception. The main workings of the organ, without the façade, were transferred and installed in the Cathedral in 1980 by Michael McDonald (Organ Builders) within one part of the previous Bruce-Mirrlees organ façade. The new installation also incorporated the original 32ft Pedal, Open Wood.
