St Andrew's Cathedral Choir

About Us
Being part of the music ministry is a particularly rewarding and satisfying way to make a contribution to the life of St Andrew’s Cathedral. Our role is to provide sacred music at masses and services and lead and support the congregation in full and active participation in the liturgy.
Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm till 8.30pm in the Cathedral when we prepare our Sunday music and liturgy, plan forthcoming events and discuss future projects - preceded of course by the obligatory tea and biscuits!
We embrace and utilise a diverse range of musical styles and cultures from Gregorian chant to traditional and contemporary hymns and choral pieces, to folk and celtic inspired canticles, with a little bit of Mozart, Schubert and Bach thrown in, thereby hopefully enhancing the enjoyment and understanding of the liturgy for regulars and visitors alike.

Getting Involved
We are always looking to recruit new members, so if you think you would like to join us as a choir member, cantor or musician, or are just interested in finding out more about our music ministry, please contact us at music@cathedralG1.org.  A background in music or prior experience is not essential - just lots of enthusiasm!  A warm and friendly welcome is assured.
